HOW TO BECOME A HOST

We'd love for you to host a walk in your neighborhood! Ideally you have already participated in a few of our walks, so you can already imagine a walk in your neighborhood.

We are guided by Black feminist principles of care towards self, others, community, and land, seeing care as a practice of both critiquing and generating power. We aim to bring awareness to our walks, connecting with the histories and dynamics of each neighborhood and reflecting on the impact of our presence.

As a host, you'll get paired with one of our core walkers to help you plan and support you along the way. If you have any questions or concerns, just let us know. We're here to help!

 Thank you for considering hosting!

Step 1: Set Neighborhood and Date

As a host, we encourage you to select a neighborhood in which you reside. This not only makes it convenient for you but also ensures you have local insights to share. Preferably, select a neighborhood that hasn't been explored in our previous walks. We aim to cover new areas and diverse experiences.

In the google form you'll find the dates for the next few walks, please indicate which dates would work for you to host a walk!

Step 2: Pre-Walk and Safety

Before the midnight walk, it's recommended to pre-walk the route during the day, especially if you're not entirely familiar with it. While you plan the route, remember, you're not responsible for the group's safety - everyone participates at their own risk. Your role is to lead and create an empowering experience.

Step 3: Co-Hosting is Fun

Don't worry; co-hosting is all about enjoyment, not stress. You're only responsible for planning the route and guiding the walk.
